Over 100 employees of the Gansi AF Base (Manas Airport near the capital city of Bishkek) went on strike protesting against a cut in wages. Radio Azattyk or RL Kyrgyz Service reports that all protesters are locals.

Radio Azattyk correspondent was told at the PR Department of the Gansi AF Base that the command had been informed of the protests and that negotiations with the protesters were already under way.

The counter-terrorism coalition established the AF base in Kyrgyzstan in 2001.
