Uzbekistan abolished tax remissions for some enterprises with foreign capitals

Uzbek newspapers published a list of companies with foreign capitals no longer entitled to tax preferences. The Cabinet passed a special resolution on that score on July 7.
The Uzbek-American Zaravshan-Newmont gold-mining joint venture is no longer entitled to certain tax remissions it has enjoyed (income tax, property tax, and so on). Ditto Amantaytau-Goldfields where 50% belong to the British Oxus Gold.
Zero customs duties on equipment import will no longer apply to the Uzbek-Russian Wimm-Bill-Dann Tashkent (dairy products), Uzbek-American UZ-Texaco (motor oils), and Uzbek-Korean UzDaewoo-Electronics.
The Uzbek-Swiss Nestle-Uzbekistan (foods) is no longer entitled to VAT privileges, and so is the Uzbek-American UzCaseagroleasing.
As of now, all privileges and remissions will be strictly provisional. Over 30 enterprises with foreign capitals have enjoyed permanent tax remissions until now.
Privileges are now restricted only to the companies operating until a specific date, under the terms of split-products accords, and investment accords - the Russian Gazprom and LUKOIL, for example.
