Ferghana.Ru news agency and Central Asian Information Center opened their office at 44, Kurmanjan Datka Street, Osh, Kyrgyzstan on September 28.

"Osh is one of the largest and probably most active cities in all of the Ferghana Valley," Ferghana.Ru Chief Editor Daniil Kislov told his local colleagues in Osh last Thursday. "These factors determined our choice of Osh for the first office in Central Asia."

Ferghana.Ru Chief Editor and Central Asian Information Center Director Daniil Kislov and Alisher Saipov of the local Valley Media Group showed journalists the Partnership Treaty between the Russian and Kyrgyz companies and proceeded to speak of their plans for the future.

The Partnership Treaty makes Valley Media Group plenipotentiary representative of Ferghana.Ru news agency and Central Asian Information Center in Kyrgyzstan. The signatories will run Ferghana.Ru web site and organize actions promoting advancement of Russia's ties with countries of the region.

Establishment of the Intellectual Club was announced at the reception party that same day. Established on the premises of the Ferghana.Ru office, the Intellectual Club will include:

- art-cafe;

- Internet-cafe;

- exhibition hall;

- library;

- guest house; and

- information center for tourists.

An establishment unique for the Central Asian region, the Intellectual Club will arrange forums, seminars, roundtable conferences, meetings with politicians and journalists, art actions (chamber music and folk music concertos), and movie runs.

Officials of the Russian General Consulate in Osh, representatives of municipal and regional administrations, officers of local divisions of secret services, and representatives of Osh-based international organizations attended the reception.

The guests welcomed Ferghana.Ru news agency and promised their assistance.

Ferghana.Ru office is already in business. The Intellectual Club and Ferghana.Ru-Osh Center of Information and Culture will open in November.
