Marina Ivanova, the widow of Alexander Ivanov shot by AF Base Gansi personnel, sued the US Administration for an indemnity, said a prominent lawyer who would represent her family in court.

Citizen of Kyrgyzstan Ivanov was murdered in Manas, the airport where the US AF base is located, on December 6. It happened at one of the checkpoints on the airport perimeter at about 3 p.m. (noon, Moscow time). American sentry shot Ivanov with his firearm, killing the fuel truck driver on the spot. Spokesmen for the AF base later said that the driver had allegedly threatened servicemen and therefore compelled Zachary Hatfield to open fire in self-defense.
