Kyrgyzstan: Doctor Life to run the election committee of the oppositionist Asaba party

Jenishbek Nazaraliyev, narcologist known throughout Kyrgyzstan and beyond, announced his decision to join Asaba and run its election committee through the snap parliamentary election scheduled for December 16.
Nazaraliyev said he shared Asaba's objectives but abhorred nationalism and chauvinism in whatever form.
The renowned medic joined Asaba when Rosa Otunbayeva, its co-chair and "locomotive force of the Tulip Revolution", quit it to join the Social-Democratic Party headed by Prime Minister Almazbek Atambayev.
Famous for his fairly "exotic" mentality, Nazaraliyev pronounced results of the October 21 referendum rigged since 90% of the population had no inkling of what the laws adopted at the referendum were about.
Nazaraliyev will become number one candidate on Asaba list, followed by party Chairman Azimbek Beknazarov (ex-deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh or national parliament and former Prosecutor General).
The recently amended Election Code requires election of the Jogorku Kenesh by party lists. The party with a majority of seats on the parliament will nominate the prime minister and form the Cabinet.
