The latest reports of AKIpress news agency quoting the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan (December 19 morning) indicate that four political parties may make the Jogorku Kenesh or national parliament.

So far, 99.96% bulletins have been processed and counted. According to the Central Electoral Commission, Ak Jol the (ruling party) polled 46.99% votes, Ata-Meken (leader Omurbek Tekebayev) 8.29%, Communist Party (leader Iskhak Masaliyev) 5.12%, and Social-Democratic Party (leader ex-premier Almazbek Atambayev) 5.05%. All other participants of the parliamentary race polled under 5%.

Abolition of the so called regional barrier therefore will let four political parties (three parties of the opposition and the pro-president Ak Jol party) into the national parliament.

The Central Electoral Commission promises the official outcome of the election on December 20. The new parliament is scheduled to meet the following day.
