This piece was to appear on the Ferghana.Ru web site somewhat earlier, a piece on publications by Uzbek authors under Kyrgyz aliases directed against Alisher Saipov. As things are, however, I'm writing about his physical extermination.

Journalist Alisher Saipov who had once worked for Ferghana.Ru was assassinated in Osh on October 24. Investigation is under way. There is no saying if the assassins are ever found or if whoever has marked Alisher for assassination is identified.
